Come membri della Chiesa cattolica, consideriamo il cammino sinodale in Germania e oltre i suoi confini come un kairos: un momento decisivo per la nostra Chiesa davanti al quale Dio ci pone.

Conosciamo la colpa che la nostra Chiesa si porta addosso, specialmente per gli abusi sessuali e spirituali del suo potere.

Accogliamo lo spirito della deliberazione e del processo decisionale sinodale come un’ispirazione per trovare nuovi modi di portare il Dio della vita agli uomini del nostro tempo.

Perciò, ovunque Dio ci collochi, ci impegniamo a schierarci risolutamente per una chiesa che vive la sinodalità.

Questo significa per noi:

Rompiamo con tutte le forme di abuso di potere nella Chiesa e sosteniamo un processo completo e la giustizia per le persone colpite da abusi. 

Ci battiamo per la giustizia di genere nella Chiesa e la realizziamo con coerenza. 

Ci opponiamo a qualsiasi discriminazione nella chiesa e diamo spazio a tutte le persone nella loro diversità e unicità. 

Viviamo una chiesa in cui ci consultiamo e decidiamo insieme con i nostri ministeri e carismi. 

Non ci limitiamo ad approvare documenti, ma li traduciamo in azioni concrete: nelle nostre diocesi e parrocchie, nelle scuole e nelle istituzioni caritative, in tutti i luoghi della vita della Chiesa. 

Da questo misuriamo il nostro impegno personale.

Restiamo uniti nella preghiera e ne traiamo forza per seguire lo Spirito di Dio, che rende vivi.

Frankfurter Erklärung: Für eine synodale Kirche

Als Mitglieder der katholischen Kirche erkennen wir den Synodalen Weg in Deutschland und weit über seine Grenzen hinaus als einen Kairos: als einen Moment der Entscheidung für unsere Kirche, vor die uns Gott stellt.

Wir wissen um die Schuld, die unsere Kirche auf sich geladen hat – vor allem im sexuellen und geistlichen Missbrauch ihrer Macht.

Wir nehmen den Geist synodaler Beratungen und Entscheidungen als eine Inspiration wahr, neue Wege zu finden, um den Menschen unserer Zeit den Gott des Lebens nahe zu bringen.

Deshalb verpflichten wir uns, an den Orten, an die uns Gott stellt, entschieden für eine Kirche einzutreten, die Synodalität lebt.

Das bedeutet für uns:

Wir durchbrechen alle Formen eines Missbrauchs von Macht in der Kirche und treten für durchgreifende Aufarbeitung und Gerechtigkeit für die von Missbrauch Betroffenen ein.

Wir setzen uns für Geschlechtergerechtigkeit in der Kirche ein und verwirklichen sie konsequent.

Wir widersetzen uns jeder Diskriminierung in der Kirche und geben allen Menschen in ihrer Vielfalt und Einzigartigkeit Raum.

Wir leben eine Kirche, in der wir mit unseren Ämtern und Charismen gemeinsam beraten und entscheiden.

Wir verabschieden nicht nur Dokumente, sondern setzen sie in konkretes Handeln um: in unseren Bistümern und Gemeinden, in Schulen und caritativen Einrichtungen – an allen Orten kirchlichen Lebens.

Wir lassen uns an dieser Selbstverpflichtung messen.

Wir bleiben einander im Gebet verbunden und ziehen daraus die Kraft, dem Geist Gottes zu folgen, der lebendig macht.

Frankfurt Declaration: For a Synodal Church

As members of the Catholic Church, we recognise the Synodal Way in Germany and far beyond its borders as a kairos: a moment of decision for our Church before which God places us.

We know the guilt that our Church has brought upon itself – especially in the sexual and spiritual abuse of its power.

We embrace the spirit of synodal deliberation and decision-making as an inspiration to find new ways to bring the God of life to the people of our time.

Therefore, in the places where God puts us, we commit ourselves to advocate for a church that lives synodality.

This means for us:

We put a hold on all forms of abuse of power in the church and advocate for thoroughgoing processing and justice for those affected by abuse.

We stand up for gender justice in the church and consistently put it into practice. 

We oppose any discrimination in the church and give space to all people in their diversity and uniqueness.

We live a church in which we consult and decide together according to our ministries and charisms.

We do not just adopt documents, but translate them into concrete action: in our dioceses and parishes, in schools and charitable institutions – in all places of church life.

We welcome to be evaluated based on the goals of this self-commitment.

We remain united with each other in prayer and draw from it the strength to follow the Spirit of God, which makes alive.
